Short answer: You've likely outgrown it if you pay more each year but can't name what you get for it, you can't get a fast answer when a deal goes sideways, your tools don't talk to each other, or your plans for the next three years don't fit what the brokerage is built for.

A brokerage that fit at 3 deals a year can feel tight at 10. That's normal. It's not a sign anybody did anything wrong.

Here's the gut check I'd use. Write down what your brokerage did for you last month. Then write down what you paid.

If the first list is long, you're probably in a good spot. If it's mostly a desk and a logo, it's worth an hour to compare.

Also look ahead. Do you want a team? Your own brand out front? More time off? Ask if where you are is built for that.

Questions to ask any brokerage, including mine

  • What did my brokerage do for me last month?
  • Who answers when a deal is falling apart?
  • Can I build what I want next year here?
  • What would I need at 20 deals that I don't have now?

Your next step

  1. Take the 2-minute fit check, started on real support.
  2. Build your one-page Decision Report to bring to any broker.
  3. Talk it through on the 20-Minute Brokerage Fit Call. No pressure. No promises.
